Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has told Sikh community leaders that the state government might ban the release of Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film ‘Emergency’, depending on legal advice, as stated by government adviser Mohammad Ali Shabbir.
A delegation from the Telangana Sikh Society, headed by former IPS officer Tejdeep Kaur Menon, visited Shabbir at the Secretariat to request a ban on the film.
The 18-member group expressed their concerns that the film shows Sikhs in a negative light, portraying them as terrorists and anti-nationals.
In response, Shabbir asked the chief minister to consider the ban, and after meeting with Reddy, he shared that the chief minister would decide on getting legal advice.
